Three papers detailing Sewanee student research have recently been published.
Rex Davis (Biology major, class of 2009, pictured above) published his honors thesis on ant communities in the most recent issue of the Annals of the Entomological Society of America (). Rex is currently a graduate student in the Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences at Montana State University.
Stephanie Loria (Ecology and Biodiversity, '11) published her honors thesis on cave millipedes in the International Journal of Myriapodology (). Stephanie is a graduate student in the Richard Gilder Graduate School of the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
Will Cowan (Ecology and Biodiversity, ’11) and Caroline Croom (Environmental Chemistry, ‘09) published a short paper in the current issue of the Journal of Molluscan Studies (vol. 78:225-226) describing an association between sand dollars and clams they studied while participating in the Island Ecology Program.
All three research projects were supported by the University of the South, and funding from the Office of Undergraduate Research helped defray the costs of publication.
