Art History Majors Deliver Presentations

Wallis Ahern C'13 and Chloe Nigro C'14 delivered presentations on their research at the 2013 ACA-UNCA Undergraduate Research Symposium in Asheville, NC. Chloe Nigro's paper was titled "A Museum on Paper? The Importance of Imagery in the Dissemination of Natural Historical Knowledge." Wallis Ahern presented her paper "Collections on Display: Redefining Curiosity for the 21st Century" on the recent artwork of Mark Dion and Sarah Sze. Both presentations were supported by a grant from the Appalachian College Association titled "Science and Art: Collections, Exhibitions, and the Production of Knowledge" facilitated by Dr. Kelly Whitmer (History), Dr. Jeffrey Thompson (Art History), and Dr. Shelley MacLaren (University Art Gallery).
