The Center for Teaching sponsors a mentoring process for new or younger faculty members. This possibility is proposed at the new faculty orientations sessions. Should anyone wish to be matched with a more experienced teacher, the Co-Directors, Richard O'Connor and Pamela Macfie, will be happy to find a compatible mentor. We suggest that mentors be outside of the new teacher's department. Mentors and mentees can meet several times a semester to talk about any issues that arise, and they are given $50 to pay for coffee or meals during the year.
