The Center for Teaching participates in the new faculty orientation held by the Dean of the College. Usually after the first week of teaching the Center holds its own session where new faculty can discuss what they're encountering in the classroom. At that juncture, should new faculty express an interest, the Center plans drop-in lunches to discuss teaching-related topics (e.g. local grading standards, student life). As with all faculty, the Center's Co-Directors are always happy to meet individually or in groups to discuss teaching. The Center also has a mentoring program and teaching funds specifically for new faculty.
