The academic program at Sewanee is recognized nationally for its strengths. We take pride in our small classes, averaging thirteen students and our student faculty ratio of one to ten. The Office of Minority Student Affairs works to complement the efforts of the College to create an environment where students can be challenged to develop their minds and abilities to the fullest in preparation for future careers and fulfilling lives. It takes academic dedication and a willingness to work in an organized and systematic fashion to succeed as a student in the College. The immediate goal of this Office is to work with students as they strengthen and refine their study skills. Another important goal is to help students gain a realistic appreciation of the time and energy required to be a successful student. In furtherance of this goal, this Office works to structure workshops and discussion groups to share information about matters including time management, note-taking skills, test-taking skills, and outlining and review skills. |
