Getting Here

By Air

The nearest airports are in Nashville (1 hr., 15 mins.) and Chattanooga (45 mins.).  Please note that Chattanooga is on Eastern Time while Sewanee and Nashville are on Central.  Both Chattanooga and Nashville airports have the usual automobile rental companies. 

A shuttle service, also available from both airports, makes a stop in Monteagle, six miles from Sewanee; if your lodging is in Sewanee and you give us sufficient advance notice, we can arrange transportation for you from Monteagle to campus. 

By Car

Sewanee is located off Interstate 24 (exit 134; Monteagle) between Chattanooga and Nashville.  From Monteagle, take highway 41 south approximately six miles and take the first exit (right) after you pass the stone University gates.  This is University Avenue.  You will soon approach the Sewanee Inn on your right.  The main campus is straight ahead.  Parking is available in visitors' spaces along University Avenue and behind Fulford Hall, at the corner of University and South Carolina Avenues.
