Sample Lesson Plan: Free Verse Poetry

This sample lesson plan addresses the importance of understanding poetic elements. As it addresses poetry, it also addresses the acquisition of knowledge. It meets Sewanee's first standard of effective teaching most readily. Diversity in poetry can address diversity in the classroom. Assessment of both myself and my students also plays in the creation of such a lesson plan.
