TONYA Internships in Economics

General Information

 

The internship program in economics is sponsored by the University in cooperation with, and support from, the Tonya Foundation in connection with the Frank W. Wilson endowed chair in economics. The program is designed for students who are interested in a learning work experience in the summer in some area related to the private economy.


Eligibility

All students of The University of the South are eligible.


Duration Of Internships

Internships in economics are usually for two months in the summer. However, arrangements maybe made for the internship to be for a shorter or a longer period.


Stipend

A stipend of $800.00 to $1000.00 per month will be paid, depending on the location of the internship.


Application Procedure

Information and applications for internships may be obtained from the Office of Career Services. A written proposal, two letters of recommendation, a transcript, and a letter of commitment from the participating organization are required. A preliminary proposal must be submitted by March 1 and a completed application must be submitted no later than April 1. Awards are announced by May 1.
