The Bridge Program in Math and Science at Sewanee is a three-week residential experience for twenty rising high school seniors. Selection of students will be based on academic performance and their potential to contribute to and enrich campus diversity. Sewanee's facilities include state-of-the-art equipment, computerized classrooms, and a 10,000 acre campus that provides ample opportunity for research and recreation. The mathematics experience is an introductory calculus class. The science is research-oriented, culminating in a poster session at which the students present their work. Program mentors include four current students of the university who join the program to live in the residence hall and assist the professors. The university has secured sponsorship of the program. In other words, to the twenty students chosen to attend this program, tuition, books, room, and board are free.
